Thank a Donor Day

What is Thank-a-Donor Day?

Thank-a-Donor Day is a university-wide initiative to engage students, faculty and staff in appreciating and recognizing some of Ohio State’s most loyal donors through personal touchpoints, from handwritten notes to video messages. We deeply value our donors at Ohio State and their dedication, passion and trust. Donors are integral to our success as a university, and we’re excited to have you on board with thanking them!

Why are we thanking donors?

Saying "thank you" is one of the simplest and most meaningful things we can do. And we cannot say it enough to our generous alumni, students, and friends who support Ohio State in countless ways. Ohio State’s generous supporters make a difference in the lives of students, faculty, staff and patients in profound ways, such as:

  • Supporting the renovation of Thompson library, which provides students, faculty and staff with a premier, state-of-the-art facility for study and research.
  • Providing funds for student scholarships. Last year, Ohio State awarded $26.3 million in donor-funded scholarships to 8,867 students.
  • Funding cancer research. Donors are helping to fight cancer by funding various cutting-edge research initiatives at the James.
